    William Summs, President and CEO of Atlantic Asset & Management Group, is an aggressive, experienced professional in the auction and liquidation business. He is highly motivated to obtain the maximum cash return for each client, concentrating on and implementing a custom-made asset recovery plan for the client he serves. He applies an enthusiastic approach, employing his extensive management and marketing expertise, to achieve the best financial results for his clients. William J. Summs has vested himself in the auction industry and has successfully completed the highest level of the auction Industries designation at the Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI) Additionally he has successfully completed the following National Auction certifications, Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate (AARE) Certified Estate Specialist (CES) Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA) Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) Mr. Summs is a licensed auctioneer, independent automobile principal dealer and a licensed yacht broker in the State of Virginia. Mr. Summs successfully managed and operated a full service Vehicle Heavy Hauling, Private Property / Municipal Vehicle Towing, Recovery & Storage / Public Auto Auction from 1979 to 1998 when he sold those divisions of Atlantic Asset Management, Inc. to a National Consolidation Concern from Dallas, TX. Atlantic Asset Management Group retained its general auction division which continues servicing clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United States.

    Since 1979, Mr. Summs has produced, orchestrated and conducted various types of asset recovery auctions throughout Virginia. His activities have placed heavy emphasis on accelerated marketing events, working closely with private sellers, secured creditors, federal and state trustees and has established himself as an expert in auction remarketing and asset appraisals by the United States Bankruptcy Court , FDIC, United States Marshal Service, Drug Enforcement Agency, Homeland Security and the IRS. Mr. Summs has been appointed as the past Auctioneer for the City of Norfolk, VA, James City County, VA, Accomack County, VA. As a licensed auctioneer in several states, Mr. Summs personally conducts many of the auctions that Atlantic Asset Management Group is called upon to handle. These include sales of individual and multi-property residential, retail and commercial real estate (both developed and undeveloped), business asset liquidations, heavy equipment and surplus vehicles. Mr. Summs is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, The Virginia Auctioneers Association, The North Carolina Auctioneers Association, The Florida Auctioneers Association, The Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association, The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, The Hampton Roads Commercial Real Estate Association & the BBB.

    Tony Goodwin
    Auctioneer, Automotive Marketing Specialist

    Born and raised in Hampton Roads, Tony has more than 11 years experience with professional auction companies in Virginia specializing in FF&E and Estates. As a licensed Auctioneer and Sales Executive for AAMG, Tony focuses heavily on merchandising and set-up of auctions, buying and selling restaurant equipment and setting up and conducting tag sale liquidations and more. Tony earned his auctioneer license from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in 2008. A licensed Real Estate Agent, Tony has also been involved in property management and maintenance of both residential and commercial real estate and studied under the Alpha College of Real Estate. One of Tony’s passions is historical residential restoration. He is a past member of the Downtown Design Commission and currently serves on the Historic Preservation Commission in Portsmouth.

    Tony has successfully owned and managed restaurants and procured food service contracts with local and national companies. He has served as manager, buyer and merchandiser for home furnishing companies and is actively involved in community organizations, local government committees and leadership programs. His family has been in the auction business since 1982, so he has seen the evolution of the industry first hand. Tony also enjoys acting in his spare time and has appeared in several episodes on the Discovery Channel and TLC.

    John Hertling
    Auctioneer, Automotive Marketing Specialist

    John has been a consultant for large automotive dealers and financial institutions for the last 15 years; He is JMA certified, F.I.L.E.S. certified, (finance, insurance, legal and ethical standards) and holds a AFIB certification (association of finance and insurance professionals). John recently added Auctioneer to his portfolio for Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.

    A Former USMC Sgt., he has demonstrated the utmost highest standards of service, worked as a ring man for numerous auctions such as Achievable Dream Gala Tennis Ball Auctions, Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic, Samaritan House, Battleship Wisconsin Gala Event, Cape Henry Collegiate Gala Event, Breast Cancer Society, Urban League, Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Virginia Fashion Week and more. John leads by example and believes in giving back to the community.

    Bill Law
    Director of Sales

    Bill is our Director of Sales for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Bill’s focus is to grow AAMG’s business through building relationships with Lenders, Trustees, Banks, Realtors, and Developers. He is licensed to sell real estate and automobiles in the State of Virginia and has his B.S. from Radford University.

    Over the past sixteen years Bill has been instrumental in moving companies to the next level with his energetic, hands-on leadership style. Ever versatile, Bill’s experience is heavy in the areas of management, sales, finance, recruiting, human resources, training, marketing and development. Bill was the C.O.O. of a large automotive group in addition to starting his own Real Estate Company. His many years of diverse experience translate into an ability to effectively manage projects on any level. Bill is also a proven problem-solver and prides himself on his ability to implement notable solutions under tight deadlines. Born and raised right here in the Norfolk area, Bill enjoys spending time fishing and staying active with water sports.

    Becki Roberts
    Office/Auction Administrator

    Serving as Atlantic Asset Management Group’s Office & Auction Administrator, Becki handles the front desk, purchasing, coordinating of reports, researching and lotting, and serves as the lead clerk for all auctions.

    Becki has been with our company for over nine years and is a “jack of all trades”, having a great knowledge of the auction business. She is a key presence at auctions, on location, clerking and reporting. Becki enjoys spending time with her family in her off-time as well as being an accomplished dance instructor.

    Shannon Waddell
    Special Auctions Executive

    Shannon serves as Special Auctions Executive here at Atlantic Asset Management Group, Inc. In this dynamic position, Shannon oversees our Benefit Auction Division as well as many FF&E auctions while at the same time serving as our Finance Manager.

    Shannon joined AAMG in June 2007 and strategically assists in AAMG’s daily operations. Prior to joining the company, she was employed by Household Bank for over 5 years. As Manager of the Bad-debt Team, she sought resolutions to prevent delinquency. Her leadership and management skills produced a strong record of performance often landing her Manager of the Month. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Shannon enjoys horseback riding with her 7 horses and exploring the outdoors with her husband and two children.
